This shirt caught my attention the other day on Pinterest. It states I don’t need Google my husband knows everything. I’m left wondering is there a shirt out there for me to promote their wife’s intelligence? After searching for a while, I found nothing. Only the “this is what feminism looks like” shirt. I challenge this shirt and I don’t understand why any woman would wear this. This shirt is a statement of submission in a patriarchal society. Women’s rights and strengths are not promoted by male domination is.
It also says something about the power distribution in a relationship. I would never wear a shirt that shows disrespect for myself or spouse like that. And I know my significant other would never wear a shirt essentially saying “my girlfriend is smarter than me”. It’s self shaming and shows who has control in the relationship.
Found this after literally four seconds of Googling. This leads me to believe that maybe you didn’t spend as much time searching for it as you claim, but I digress.

So the company who manufactures the shirt you originally posted also sells a male equivalent, AND it even makes shirts intended for gay couples.
Judge feminism by its actions then and not it’s definition. It is easy to claim to care, but feminism, the feminism that has had the power to change things, has voted against helping people like this man, including but not limited to opposing abuse shelters for me, opposing gender neutral rape definitions, opposing equal treatment in sentencing of women, and let us not forget the constant jokes about harming men. #killallmen, “I look so good that I could kill a man with a single glance”, “if a guy says something you don’t like, hit him”. And to top it off, we have the problem of feminists making efforts to stop violence into a women’s issue. Roughly half of domestic violence victims being male means nothing. Women also being roughly half of abusers means nothing. Male abuse victims not being able to come forth without fear of being arrested means nothing.
Heforshe is good example of this. It claims to support equality for all. It even got a big space about how it was also helping men, but we see through practice and their own mission statement that it is purely about women.
So no, when judging it by its actions, feminism has no right to claim this as their issue to fight. It is better in the hands of people who truly care.

Feminism is a movement that uses fear-mongering tactics to gain support. One of the more popular fear-mongering myths is that 1-in-4 college women will be raped during their time in college.
This year, there are roughly 11 million women enrolled in college. That would mean a total of 2,750,000 college rape cases in the last four years.
Do you know how many rape cases are reported annually? About 89,000. With the assumed 60% unreported rate, that’s about 195,000 rape cases per year. Over a four year span, assuming that the statistics stay exactly the same? This parroted stat isn’t just wrong: It was maliciously fabricated by Mary Koss for Ms Magazine, a long running popular feminist publication.
Mary Koss, who ran an incredibly flawed survey, can be quoted as saying “[a]lthough consideration of male victims is within the scope of the legal statutes, it is important to restrict the term rape to instances where male victims were penetrated by offenders. The woman who a ran a totally-not-biased survey [with a staggeringly low sample size of just 6,000 students], can be quoted as saying that men can not consider unwanted sexual intercourse “rape” in the same way women could.

At least the old definition was honest. While the new definition allows male victims, it eliminates the most common form of female-on-male rape. For example: A woman climbs on top of me and forced my penis inside her.
That is not rape, according to the federal definition that mirrors a bigoted statement by “Ms False Rape Statistics” herself.

The Duluth Model is doctrine which all US law enforcement agencies use to respond to Domestic Violence situations. This doctrine paints men as the primary aggressors in heterosexual domestic violence situations. This all but insures that only men are arrested for and charged with domestic violence.

To break it down, “wage gap” is a misnomer. What we have is an “earnings gap”.

A wage gap suggests that people are paid differently for the same work.
An earnings gap is simply the fact that a gap exists.
The problem is, women aren’t paid less for the same work. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 prevents this from happening.

Women do make less money than men, but it isn’t for the same work. Men are more likely to work more hours, work more dangerous jobs, and take less time off than women. Men are more likely to take higher-paying career paths.

Its not necessarily “rights” women don’t have that men do. Its more about discrimination for me anyways. Everyone is different. For example:
Women hold less seats in Congress Women are more likely to experience both domestic violence and rape (not saying men can’t be vitims also) There is a wage gap even for women who are in Americas top 10 highest paying jobs.
Also if we want to talk rights, nothing in the U.S. Constitution guarantees women the same rights as a man. Equal Rights Amendment never passed.

There is literally nothing stopping women from going into those positions of power. There are no rules or regulations that say that women can’t be in those positions. This isn’t “discrimination”, this is women’s personal choices. Since when is women choosing to not go into those jobs somehow “discrimination” against them?

The number for women is higher, but not by much. 40-50% of domestic violence is suffered by men, which is nearly half. Men get domestically abused nearly as much as women do.
Also, there isn’t really a sure way of knowing how many men get raped considering the fact that feminists pushed the FBI to change the definition of rape so that it’s only inclusive for women. So even if a man did get raped, it probably wouldn’t be reported because it wouldn’t be considered rape. You can thank your precious feminists for that :)

Ugh not this bullshit again. This “wage gap” shit has been disproven time and time again because the logic behind it is so flawed. Like are telling me that every single company on this planet, even the small business and even the ones owned/run by women, are paying its female employees 77% of what the male employees are making?
According to a report by the CONSAD Research Corp, the main cause for this “wage gap” is simply women choosing to go into lower paying jobs. For example, while women go into jobs like teaching, secretaries, social services, nursing, etc, men go into jobs like engineering, doctors, pharmacists, etc. Source: [x]
The wage gap is a misleading statistic made by feminists by taking the average salaries of all men and the average salaries of all women and comparing them without taking into account job types, hours worked, days taken off, quality of work, etc. When all these accounts are taken into consideration, the “wage gap” practically vanishes. But the feminists just took their finding and held that standard to every job, which is incredibly misleading.
Also, paying women less than a man just for being a woman was made illegal by the Equal Pay Act of 1963. You hear that? Illegal. You know what that means? That means that if a woman thinks that she is being payed unfairly because of her gender, she can take that to a federal court and the company that she works under can lose everything.

Have you never heard of the Civil Rights Act of 1964? That act not only made it illegal to discriminate against blacks for being black, but also made it illegal to discriminate against women for being women. That’s right, there’s an act that made it illegal to discriminate against a person based on their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. How’s that for an “Equal Rights Amendment”?
Third wave feminism teaches women that society hates them, that men are out to get them, that the world thinks they are lesser, that if they try to pursue their dreams in fields such as gaming or the sciences they will be faced with abhorrent sexism and discrimination at every turn. It teaches them fear.
It says that without feminism they are nothing, that they owe feminism their unquestioning allegiance, and it shuns, shames and abuses women who are non feminists and women who disagree with the modern feminism movement while upholding a sexual predator (Lena Dunham) as a feminist hero and condemning feminists fighting for true equality (Christina HS).
I’ll start this off by saying that I am not against feminism in any way… or at least real feminism. I am however, against blatant agenda pushing and the misuse of a term that is meant to signify equality.

The character on the press badge is Rise Kujikawa, one of the main characters of the video game Persona 4. Rise, is a 15 year old former Japanese idol who has starred in films, television series, and commercials. Oh, and she’s also a pop star.
Now surely its not too hard to imagine that a pop star would be dressed that way, right? Especially when considering that this is all an advertisement for a DANCING game.

Rise’s entire character arc throughout Persona 4 revolves around her realization that she is much more than Risette (her idol name). She gives up all fame and fortune because she is tired of being a sex object and wants to be respected. Near the end of her arc, Rise also realizes that there is a part of her that wants to be Risette, and that isperfectly okay.
Rise is perhaps one of the most well written female characters in video game history and to judge her at face value is to spit in the face of all that feminism stands for.
True feminism is about empowering woman, telling them that they can do anything they want regardless of what society says. Not slut-shaming a fictional character because she has a bit of her midriff showing.

I don’t buy that feminism has embraced men’s issues since 2009, or at any point in time. Feminism was and is a movement for women. Men’s recent involvement has basically amounted to ‘be an ally’ and ‘do your part to protect girls.’ Like #HeForShe and other campaigns that call on men to take responsibility for the ‘bad apples’ among them, the focus is still on women. Feminists have a difficult time admitting men have systematic disadvantages, and are even more reluctant to admit that women have advantages.
We won’t get far with that kind of thinking.
K I just deleted my last response to this bc o reread your message and I didn’t quite understand it the first time I think most anti feminists, when they think of feminism, they think of white feminism. They don’t think of feminists fighting for lgbtq+, women of color, and any other intersectional feminism. In most of those cases, woman definitely do not have more advantages than men.

Considering there are plenty of large men’s issues to be talked about, a movement that claims to be for men too shouldn’t only focus on ‘the smaller things.’
To this one: I am well aware of intersectional feminism, and what it ultimately shows me is a need for race- and sexuality-based movements, which already exist in varying forms (and with varying success).
I’m going to phrase this the best I can: feminist discussions are limited because they don’t venture outside of a man-as-oppressor / woman-as-oppressed dynamic. To give an example, I would say black women are disadvantaged. Not a controversial statement. But I believe it has more to with being black than being a woman. You would have a tough time convincing me that black men have all that much ‘male privilege’ over black women. Not when you take everything into account.
Intersectional posts, I notice, tend to skirt this issue by using the straight, cis, white male as the baseline for comparison.

Actually, amateurvirgo, we’re quite aware that some feminists
claim the movement is for men and women. Some feminists even back that
up. Thing is, most feminists “don’t realize feminism is for
men and women” either. I’ve asked them time after time, and none can name a single feminist program mainly to help men.
Also, you seem to be implying that a movement that’s spent it’s entire history prioritizing women above all can completely turn around in only six years. Which seems…dubious, especially since feminism has done more to silence and mock people talking about men’s issues in that time period than actually doing anything to solve them. Including in meatspace.
And then when you get a feminist like Christina Hoff Sommers, who actually does publicly advocate for boys and men, she gets called “anti-feminist” because she dares to criticize mainstream feminism, and because people usually critical of feminism actually like her.
There’s also the fact that most of the time, when people say feminism helps men too, it’s usually in response to people criticizing it for not doing that. I mean, feminists can make “manspreading” and “kill all men” and “male tears” memes, but the movement somehow can’t convince the public that you care about men too?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a discussion of “toxic masculinity” that admitted that men have actual disadvantages compared to women, in any area. Women’s primacy as victims is preserved. And frankly, perhaps feminists should start convincing us that y’all care about men by publicly calling out the folks in your ranks who think “male tears” or “fragile masculinity” are just hilarious. All it would take to show good faith is a fraction of the effort the movement spends on manspreading.
